Two Kinds

            Amy tan was a shy Chinese American girl who was born in the U.S.A. She wants to become an American girl. Amy Tam and her mother were living in California on Sacramento Street in Chinatown in San Francisco. Her mother moved to San Francisco in 1949 after losing everything in China. Her mother was an ambitious Chinese woman, who wants her daughter to be perfect in everything. But Amy wants to be an independent American girl. This story is all about the conflicts between her and her mother. In the starting, she was mad with her mother because her mother took her in training school for hair cut. She did not like her hairstyle at all. When her mother sent her to Mr. Chong for piano lessons, she did not like it. She was not interested in learning piano. Later as her mother made her to participate in the talent show and Amy disappointed her in front all of her friends. After the talent show she thought that her mother would stop her sending to piano classes. But when her mother tried to send her to the piano classes, she had a huge fight with her mother that changed everything. This was the first time when Amy had ever told anything to her. After that her mother never said anything to her. She let Amy do whatever she wanted. On Amy’s 30^th birthday, her mother offered her piano and Amy accepted it as a sign of forgiveness. After her mother death, we Amy played it and she felt that she enjoyed it.

                                                               Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

            Have you ever had a delicious peanut butter jelly sandwich? Peanut butter jelly sandwich became popular in the United States in 1920’s. It became very popular in military because military officers have to stay long period outside the country when practicing for war. Peanut butter jelly sandwich is one of the favorites of American children, and it became very popular with American children in 1950’s. To make peanut butter jelly sandwich, we need knife, paper plates and napkins. The ingredients of peanut butter sandwich are bread, peanut butter, jelly and honey.

            First of all, we need two slices of bread. There are two different types of breads white and wheat. Place your favorite bread on the plate. Then we need peanut butter. Peanut butter comes from peanuts and butter and its looks like brown cream. There are two different kinds of peanut butter; creamy and crunchy. To make peanut butter jelly sandwich get the peanut butter from the peanut butter jar with a knife and then spread all over the bread. We need creamy peanut butter for this sandwich. If we use crunchy peanut, it might tear the bread.  

             The second ingredient to make peanut butter and jelly sandwich is the jelly. There are two popular jelly flavors; strawberry and grape. Jelly comes from fruits and there are many different flavors jellies available at the stores. After peanut butter squeeze the jelly from the jelly bottle in the middle of the bread. We need to make sure that not to put too much jelly because if we put too much jelly on the bread it might spill out the sides of the sandwich and make a mess.

            The third ingredient to make peanut butter and jelly sandwich is the honey. Honey is our secret ingredient and it come from honeybees. It looks like yellow syrup. There are more than 300 different types of honey in the United States but clover brand of honey is the popular one in the United States. After jelly squeeze a dot of honey from the honey bottle top on the jelly and then flip over the other slices of bread on the top of it.

            After applying all the ingredients, now your peanut butter jelly sandwich is ready to eat.  This is one of the easiest and quick to have your food ready in short time.  This sandwich is a favorite food of college students. This is also very cheap to make it because all the needed ingredients are easily available at Dollar stores. You do not even need kitchen or refrigerator to make this.

            Every living creature needs a place to live. Not only human beings but also animals build a place to live. In the past, people stay in small places with big families but now people like to live separately: that’s why they rent places. There are many types of places to rent such as; house, apartment or mobile home.

            There are many different types of houses; such as; small, big and luxury houses. The small houses are the cheapest because they usually have no backyard and no car garage. The small houses are only for single families. Big houses are expensive and many have a backyard and car garage. The big houses are double story. The first floor usually has kitchen, one living room, lobby and car garage; the second floor often has two-three bedrooms, a master bedroom and bathrooms. The luxury houses are the most expensive and most of these houses are located near the beaches, on the top of a hill or in a private complex. They also have front and back yards, swimming pools, gym, tennis court and golf courts. Some of them gated with security guards.

            There are many different types of apartments; such as; one bedroom, two bedroom apartments and luxury apartments. The one-bedroom apartments are cheaper and they are only for a single person or a couple. They have only one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen and a living room.  The two bedroom apartments are little more expensive and they are for big families who have more than three family members. The luxury apartments are the expensive ones. They have luxury rooms loaded with luxury furniture. They also have a kitchen included with all the latest kitchen equipment. They also have a Washer-dryer and a basement garage and storage rooms.

            The mobile homes are like a home, but these homes are moved from one place to another. There are many different types of mobile homes; such as; simple and luxury mobile homes. The simple mobile are cheap and look like apartments or houses, but they don’t have a washer and dryer or kitchen equipment. Luxury mobile homes are expensive and include with a washer and dryer and all the kitchen equipment. These luxury mobiles are located in gated community.

            Every living being needs a shelter to live where they can protect themselves from the hot or from the cold weather and also from rain and other calamities too. For human beings; the most common places to rent are houses, apartments and mobile homes.
